The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., USHMM<\/strong>, is internationally renowned as the US national memorial and leading institution on the theme of the Holocaust. The authority of the USHMM is recognised globally. Being build to fulfil the idea of becoming a ‘resonator of memory’ according to the USHMM architect James Freed<\/strong>, the USHMM has been visited by more than 15 million people, has a vast collection of records and historical materials reconstructing the history of the Holocaust in pain-staking detail, and develops the Holocaust studies via its famed Centre for the Advanced Holocaust Studies<\/strong> and National Institute for Holocaust Education<\/strong>.
