Born and developed from an idea of Professor Giorgio Albiani, responsible for an international cooperation at the Cherubini Conservatory in Florence, in collaboration with the cultural association DIMA in Arezzo and professors Georgi Mundrov and Frank Wörner from the Hochschule für Musik in Saarbrücken, the project has in its focus the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Nazi massacre on June 29, 1944, which resulted in the tragic loss of 244 human lives in the locations of Civitella in Val di Chiana, San Pancrazio, and Cornia.

The Cherubini Conservatory in Florence, the Hochschule für Musik in Saarbrücken (Germany), Associazione DIMA in Arezzo, and the Rogatchi Foundation, Finland, enthusiastically embrace this noble cause towards the special commemoration event to be organised in June 2024. This involves commemorating the Nazi massacre through the language of music and art, including special commemorative exhibitions and the creation of an Italo-German orchestra that will perform a series of concerts at the locations of the massacres from June 27 to June 29, 2024.

The World Premiere of the MAM Quintet in the concert on March 22nd, 2024 ( 21.00) will feature the music of Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco, Leone Sinigaglia, Fritz Kreisler and Kurt Weil in accord with the projection of the special collection of Michael Rogatchi’s artworks on music and memory.
