The inaugural exhibition represents the part of Inna’s collection creating her own world of her favoured masters of Italian cinema, from Fellini to Bertollucci. Behind the images, there is serious research conducted by the author on the protagonists of the works in the Amarcord Forever collection, on the masters’ of Italian cinema life, their creative world, their interconnections, their aspirations, ideas, inner thoughts and feelings; as well as some less known facts of their lives.
In her collages, Inna incorporated some of the images from the original art works of her husband, renowned artist Michael Rogatchi, in particular from his well-known Blues Series, as well as earlier Don-Quixote work.
As a result, a fresh view on the rich and multi-dimensional world of classic Italian cinema was born in the Amarcord Forever series. The collection has been highly praised by Italian critics and an international audience.
“Inna Rogatchi’s Amarcord Forever exhibition is one of the most interesting amongst many events to the (69th Venice Film) Festival that will be filling the agendas of movie aficionados who will swarm the lagoon. The fact that the two events are scheduled simultaneously underlines the Festival’s aptitude to emphasize the true spirit of Italian cinema and to jealously protect its tradition. Amarcord Forever is an unmissable opportunity to live the Festival, appreciating its spirit, which has always been its distinctive trait, to the fullest.” – has been written in Italian TalksArt Blog (Milan).
The show is on display in Venice from August 25th until September 25th 2012.
