Inna Rogatchi Talks on the Pan-European Rise of Militant Islam in Washington, D.C.

Inna Rogatchi gave a special public lecture on the rise of militant Islam at the Institute of World Politics (IWP) in Washington, D.C.

In her presentation, Islamisation of Europe: On the Edge of the Fundamental Change for Society and Individuals, Inna has analysed the ongoing process of the spread of militant Islam all over Europe, its origin and reasons, its current realities and both its occurring and looming consequences.

Dr Rogatchi also provided her analyses into the current security situation and some specific threats in the USA in a historical perspective of the period before and after the attacks in September 2001, from the time of early 1990s onward when the threat of the radical Islamists’ violence has become one of the most serious problems of the modern world.

In her lecture, that was very well attended by the public and representatives of important institutions, Inna Rogatchi provided a detailed picture of the pan-European phenomenon of the fast and agressive spread of militant Islam there. Her lecture was illustrated by materials that were specially selected and edited for this presentation that document the dangerous growth of radical and violent movements all over Europe, but still aiming at the USA as their main target. The materials were recently filmed in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the UK by Erick Stakelbeck, a leading expert on international terrorism, who has been Inna’s colleague for several years. Erick’s extremely telling and valuable materials have received a well-deserved intense interest and attention by the public.

In those exclusive interviews, the leaders of radical Islamists located all over the world, and in this case, particularly in Europe, declare their views, plans and ideas openly – and as such, these materials provide the ultimate first-hand accounts on radical Islam’s agenda in Europe and the entire world for today and tomorrow, in their own words. The public that attended Inna Rogatchi’s lecture had a rare opportunity to become familiar with these first-hand narratives of the leading militant Islamists of today, and to evaluate the situation and its threatening development as it really is.

Among those present in the IWP auditorium were many students and teachers of that distinguished political school and renowned think-tank, as well as representatives of several US congressmen and senators; academics from the American UniversityGeorge Washington UniversityNational Defence UniversityArmy War College; members of the boards of the US Institute for Peace, the US Freedom FoundationEMET Foundation; educators from the Fulbright Commission; officials from the State DepartmentTransportation Security AdministrationHomeland Security, the Foreign Service; representatives of the Army and Navy; diplomats from several countries, and media representavives from the National Press ClubFrontPage MagazineThe Objective Standard, etc.

The public had a lot of questions after Inna’s presentation, and from the number and character of those questions when the entire audience was involved in a vivid and productive discussion it could be concluded how real the problem is in both the USA and Europe.

Inna’s lecture was absolutely fascinating, extremelly well prepared, and it has been dealing with the most acute problems of our times, both in Europe and here in the USA. Inna dealt with it with thoroughness, objectivity and serious practical outcome. No wonder that Inna has won the public, and the packed auditorium has been absolutely absorbed with the topics and completely united with the presenter” – said Brigadier General James M. Hutchens, the US Army (Ret), formerly the Deputy Chaplain of the US Army.

Dr Rogatchi knows her subject very well indeed, and she was able to provide the most sharp and knowledgeable analyses and much needed insights into this rapidlly growing phenomenon which we found as very dangerous and ‘contaminating’ both people’s functioning in their variety and their psychological well-being, as well. We found as particularly dangerous the speed with which the militant and radical Islam spreads all over, including universities, campuses and other educational and academic institutions in many countries. Dr Rogatchi’s analyses are based on logic and facts, they are completely unbiased, and importantly, they are providing an objective ground to the more grounded and better understanding of soon-to-be-overwhelming problems, from its origins to its implications” — commented Professor Shalini Venturelli, the President of the Faculty of the School for International Services at the American University.

On the basis of Inna Rogatchi’s research of the subject, several serious European, American and international institutions are co-operating now on the recommendations and a Policy Paper dealing with the preservation of social stability and individual security threatened by rising militant Islam world-wide.
