In January 2013, Inna and Michael Rogatchi addressed 60 of their good friends in various places of the world for the purpose of a particular fundraising campaign to mark Michael’s 60th birthday with Home Care for Orphansinitiative, to support Jewish orphans in two pensions in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. The aim of the stipend which was planned as a development of the existing The Rogatchi Foundation stipend, is to stimulate the childrens’ studies in school; to ease, to some degree, the arrangements for their further education after it, and to provide those kids with the warmth and care of a home, even if in only a somewhat partial way.
Now we are very pleased to announce that the Home Care for Orphans international campaign has found a good and warm response among the Rogatchis’ friends from around the world, and has resulted in more than $12,000 in collected funds. That sum will allow the Foundation to make three significant amendments to the existing stipend, namely to prolong the stipend for five more years, to double its size, and to extend it to six children annually instead of the previous two recipients.
Inna and Michael Rogatchi have decided to name the new stipend The YENIKE Stipend, in memory of their daughter Julia-Yenike Rogatchi who was a young talented artist and a person with such a gracious heart that she was always willing and trying to help everyone around her. Julia-Yenike spent her early years in Dnepropetrovsk, which gives a genuine link forthe name of the new stipend which goes to the children from that city.
In commemoration of Yenike’s name for the extended stipend, one of Julia-Yenike’s art works has become the art logo of the new charity project of The Rogatchi Foundation.
Michael and Inna Rogatchi are heartfully grateful to all their friends in Finland, Italy, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Singapore, France, Belgium, Israel, Estonia, Romania, Russia and Ukrainewho did show the gracefullness of their hearts in supporting the Home Care for Orphans initiative and providing orphaned children with warm care, support in their studies, and making the Yenike Stipend possible. Thank you all for your friendship and care, dear friends.
The ceremony of the Yenike Stipend announcement and launch will take place in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine at a special ceremony later this year.
